Table Mountain - Capetown, South Africa

Overlooking Cape Town and the Atlantic Ocean, the Table Mountain is prominent tourist magnet and provides great views across two oceans, the city with its harbour and the isolated Robben Island housing a prison where Nelson Mandela, the former ANC leader and then President of the Republic of South Africa, has been jailed for twenty seven years until the end of the Apartheid regime.

the cable way goes up there !

On top the Table Mountain is flat at a height of 1073 m above sea level. The whole area is protected by Table Mountain National Park, many rare species that only exist here can be found. Often clouds are wrapping the plateau even if the city and the beaches are enjoying sun shine. But my visit happened on a perfect day !
