From Halong Bay to Sapa, Vietnam

The Paradise Island lodge has a small restaurant serving fresh fish and all kinds of seafood. During daytime there is the option to play pool - myself I'm a lousy player. The beach is a perfect party location in the evening when the tourist guide light up a fire and the guest get together for a drink.
After three nights I left this lost place and returned to Halong City by boat - a scenic journey ! The local people do some fishing between the limestone rocks, and the tourists enjoy kayaking.

From Hanoi, the night train takes a tourist train to Lao Cai at the Chinese border. From there, a road with many steep loops climbs the hills up to Sapa Town (1654 m) - a former French colonial hill station and now the starting point for most trekking tours to the hilltribes in the northern region.
